February 6, 2004 Wows and scowls Wow: On an interesting beauty note, we are intrigued about the potential for makeup to be part of cleaning the environment. The Greater Redstone Clearwater Initiative, which has been seeking ideas for cleaning the orangish, iron-laden creek near Phillips, heard an interesting pitch this week. The group discussed a Maelstrom Oxidizer system, which treats the water and creates drying beds for the soil. Once dried, the sludge would be nearly all iron, which apparently has value on the market as a commodity that can be further treated and sued as a brown pigment for things like eye shadow and paint. |
