Membership Committee

Duties -

  • Grow GRCI membership
  • Maintain up-to-date computerized membership contact list with names, addresses, - phone numbers, dues payment status, and attendance history at GRCI events
  • Notify members and interested parties of meetings and other public events

Finance Committee
Members - Rich Kania

Duties -

  • Maintain accounting records
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable
  • File annual income tax
  • Manage savings and checking accounts
  • Maintain critical documents and records
  • Identify and coordinate intiatives to procure funding

Public Relations/Publications Committee (Public Participation/Education/Outreach)

Members - Brian Chalfant, Jim Tobal

Duties -

  • Design and develop GRCI presentation materials (display board, PowerPoint, outdoor banner)
  • Identify special interest groups (schools and universities) and develop programs to cultivate their involvement (field trips, watershed tours)
  • Educate and increase public awareness of the watershed and impacting issues
  • Develop and implement, through various media, communication channels that provide information to stakeholders
  • Submit press releases to local newspapers about GRCI events or accomplishments
  • Develop and maintain GRCI website
  • Develop and distribute annual GRCI newsletter

Strategic Planning/Operations/Historical Committee

Members - John Piwowar, Bruce Golden

Duties -

  • Outline strategic plan
  • Maintain minutes from all GRCI meetings
  • Maintain accurate GRCI History

Project/Technical/Research Committee

Members - Dave Leone, Mark Killar

Duties -

  • Identify large and small projects, including stream and dumpsite cleanups
  • Coordinate implementation of these projects with the appropriate committees as necessary - for example, on large projects, work with the Finance committees to obtain funding - on small projects such as clean-ups, identify the project and coordinate the clean up with the Outreach and Membership committees to obtain help and equipment
  • Provide oversight and direction to contractors on large projects
  • Develop scopes of work and schedules with contractors
  • Approve contractor requests for payment
  • Maintain regular communication with contractors
  • Develop requests for proposals
  • Organize and evaluate bidding initiatives
  • Responsibilities do not include bidding and oversight for outreach initiatives or small projects
  • Become familiar with grant and similar programs available to watershed groups
  • Understand time periods for funding requests
  • Understand mechanics of applying for grants
  • Complete and submit requests for grant funding
